ARIES (March 21 – April 19)
This month Uranus is moving forward in Aries and so stimulating you to new horizons. At the start of the month go slowly as Uranus is squared by the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Pluto. As you move towards the end of month things will lighten up and other than maybe feeling a bit heavy with wintertime all will be good. When I say go slowly in the first week I mean don’t be jumpy or agitated by the unexpected. Be mindful and of good cheer.
Aries Buddhists love to be motivators. This month do as I suggest above. Of course, you should always be mindful and of good cheer. That is what makes our lives meaningful.
TAURUS (April 20 May 20)
This month is good for meditation. The reason is the Sun and Venus will run square your Sun sign in the last weeks of January. If you are thoughtful then life will be insightful. If you are in a rush you may find many projects are done poorly. The Sun Venus square makes desires intense, so just slow down and be mindful in each moment.
Taurus Buddhists love to be grounded and practical. This month be present to what transpires in your immediate environment. Speculation and desires would not be useful as it opens the door to anxiety. Be present and compassionate.
GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)
This month you are prone to being excitable in the first week of January. This is because Mercury will be opposite Gemini for a brief time. Gemini and Mercury have a big relationship and an opposition stimulates errant thoughts. To this is added a lot of imagination as Neptune will be square, so just be careful about fantasies you imagine.
Gemini Buddhists are quick on their intellectual feet. This month be mindful of what you are going to start as a project. Match a situation with a proportionate amount of energy. The first week you need to slow down on what you are doing.
CANCER (June 21 – July 22)
This month everything seems distracting. The Sun, Venus, Mercury, Saturn and Pluto are opposite your Sun sign. Therefore, patience is important. Don’t try to solve your problems with arguments because of frustration. Move with patient grace as things unfold. It is a good time for contemplative meditations as Saturn and Mercury stimulate deep thought, even if they are opposite your Sun sign.
Cancer Buddhists normally work with feelings. This month you can be overly analytical and skeptical. As everything seems to be an obstacle you need to remember, “No one controls samsara. Life is unpredictable.” This mantra will keep you balanced.
LEO (July 23 – August 22)
This month is great for romantic inspiration in the last weeks of January. Leo has the Sun and Venus positioned opposite to your Sun Sign. The effect stimulates imaginative sensual thoughts. Maybe write a poem or do something romantic with your partner. Do it with a Bodhicitta motivation and it can be the cause of enlightenment for you both.
Leo Buddhists like to be motivators. This month look at the world with the eyes of an artist. Artists relate to the sensual world with the eyes, ears, nose, tongue and body. So use form, sound, smell, taste and touch in your artistic expression. Work creatively with good intention. That is the life ambition of all bodhisattvas.
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)
This month you are free of direct planets in you sign. What you have from the position of your Sun sign is an opposition to Neptune. That can mean you feel dreamy or spacious. Slow down and check your motivation. If you feel you are living in a dream, then the astrology is negatively influencing you. If you have a broad-minded vision of life, then it is a positive effect. Be mindful of how you are acting, and you will control this influence.
Virgo Buddhists do things in an orderly manner. This month practice mindfulness in each step and each breath. That will keep you centered and out of trouble.
LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)
This month there are no planets in your sign. That does not mean there is nothing happening astrologically. It means there are no strong positive effects influencing you. Be peaceful and act in a graceful manner. There are planets square your Sun Sign that could make you critical of others. Compassionate mindfulness can eliminate that effect. Grace is a natural Libra trait.
Libra Buddhists keep life in balance. This month the main message is above for you to read. The general message says it all.
SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)
This month things seem to go well as Jupiter and Mars is in your sign right now. Pluto and Mercury help you from a distance. You are excitable in the first week of January as Mars and Jupiter are conjunct. That makes you feel you can accomplish anything you wish. This will quickly change as Mars moves forward to Sagittarius. Jupiter will remain in Scorpio though for some time and that means enthusiasm pervades you.
Scorpio Buddhists are passionate. This month you feel inspired in the first week. Be mindful of the illusions samsara might create during this time. Do things that are realistic and beneficial.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)
Clear intellect stimulates you for the first week of the month. Mercury is progressing quickly through Sagittarius. The month it is good though as the Sun and Venus are coming well aspected Sagittarius, giving you happy feelings. This can be useful as happiness gives you a flexible approach to life. Therefore, practice meditations of Bodhicitta. These meditations never let you down and the astrology is good during this time. Just make sure you have positive intentions.
Sagittarius Buddhists are inspired individuals. This month your sensual feelings play a stronger role in your life. Bodhisattvas use their emotional life skillfully. Perhaps meditations on Guru Yoga or exchanging self and others would be beneficial?
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)
This is the birthday month. Offer thanks to your parents for giving you this rebirth. They are the ones that really deserve the presents. You would not have met the dharma or the great teachers if you did not have this body. It is a good time to rejoice and offer thanks to all that support you. This month the Sun, Venus, Saturn, Pluto and Mercury give you a brilliant mind and good feelings. Share your good ideas and inspirations with others. That is 50% of the planets available inspiring you. It cannot get better than that.
Capricorn Buddhists reflect and contemplate on decisions. The time is good for you to be open hearted toward others. Capricorns tend to be controlling. This month give up control and just be a nice person with no special agenda. Let the unexpected enter your life. Magic is actually being open minded and seeing the interconnectedness of it all.
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)
This is the birthday month. Offer thanks to your parents for giving you this rebirth. They are the ones that really deserve the presents. You would not have met the dharma or the great teachers if you did not have this body. It is a good time to rejoice and offer thanks to all that support you. The month starts slowly as no planets are in your Sun sign. That will quickly finish by month end as Venus and the Sun will enter Aquarius. Use these good astrological transits to enhance your practice of altruism. Those planets generate a sense of presence and affection. This exists for the last weeks of the month.
Aquarius Buddhists are sociable beings. This month your Bodhicitta wisdom meditations are the focus. Don’t miss a day and you may be surprised with the new levels of love and wisdom are there for you by month’s end.
PISCES (February 19 – March 20)
This month has the usual message with Neptune in your sign for some years to come. Neptune will give you lots of dreams and visions that will grow and grow. This is because Jupiter and Mars run well aspected to Neptune. That will make your feel like a million dollars provided you keep the situation under some control. If you are mentally scattered, then illusions could get worse. Astrology is only an influence, it is up to you to manage the situations you find yourself in.
Pisces Buddhists are sensitive and introspective. This month put a filter on your mind to stop illusions polluting you. Any realization Neptune may stimulate is only as valuable as you can absorb it. As Buddhists we don’t let others know we are gaining realizations verbally. We just incorporate the realizations into daily action and express it in beneficial ways.
